Ike Yard - Loss
One of the pionneer of modern electronic music, but not the most well known, was the N.Y. band Ike Yard. Although the band survived just 4 years (1979-1983), they became famous for their minimalistic and hypnotic songs, direct heritage of Kraftwerk, vocals à la Throbbing Gristle, precursor of the Detroit electronic scene such as Drexciya, Elecktroids, Model 500, Dopplereffekt, etc. Loss is an extract of the re-released album A Second, formerly on Factory America, now on Desire Records. Three of the four original members returned in 2010 for the album Nord. When you listen to this track, you just hope they’ll play live again.
